Fill a medium sized pot halfway with Excella Sunflower Oil and leave to warm up on a high heat to fry the chips and the fish later. You will know if the oil is ready if you cannot keep your hand above the pot for longer than 10 seconds. Fry the chips until golden brown.
While the oil is heating, in a shallow dish place the hake fillet in the egg mixture and ensure that the hake is fully coated.
Combine the flour, salt, pepper and fish spice into a separate dish and coat the hake with the flour mixture.
In a second frying pan, add 2 tablespoons of Excella Sunflower Oil. Fry the fish for 4 - 5 minutes, flipping half-way or until golden brown.
Serve with Excella Rich & Creamy Mayonnaise and a lemon wedge!
